Virtual Skipper 5/VSK5 Server Data

I started this site to show Virtual Skipper 5 VSK5 Server Data because I want to find the player rankings of skippers while I was still in the game. Lazy.se does this a lot but he runs two computers to get the information. Frankly, getting the information from two computers is faster because you can quickly see who is on any particular server. The VSK api only offers who is online, what servers are online and player stats. So we can't see whom is in what server.

Servers / Players

We are currently collecting the VSK server data and offer two presentations. VSK Servers Online and VSK Players Online. We also correlate payers online with World Ranking stats so everywhere we present a player name we link to the World Ranking. We currently only track the top 20k players however. Why only 20k players? It is the 80/20 rule. Most of the active players are in the top twenty percent of the population. It takes a lot more processing to get the other eighty percent and that data is only used less then twenty percent of the time.

VSK Server Trends

The third presentation is the trending data of the VSK server and player counts. This data is collected hourly and presents the last 24 hours of server activity. This give you an idea of server/player ratios and when it might be a good time to host and or play.
